In internal communication: recommendation algorithm; matching system; a defined sequence of operations, analyses and calculations performed by the application on a large set of data with extended parameters (Big Data) to find and propose to the user an ideal carrier matching the specified criteria and freight parameters. Owing to this, the process of searching is automated and the change of finding the best possible match is increased. The machine learning (ML) algorithm implemented on the Trans.eu Platform can learn based on gathered data and improve matches created on their basis.

How the algorithm matching the carrier to the shipper's freight works
1a Freight attributes passed to the algorithm:

- freight id and parameters of the freight issuer (company, TFS/TFA)
- dates: creating freight, dates of loading and unloading (country, city, postal code, GPS)
- parameters of a load (weight, loading meters, height, ADR, truck crane, lift, pallet exchange) and a vehicle (type, way of loading).

1b. Attributes of the carrier's history of operations passed to the algorithm:
- information about offers that are interesting to the carrier, based on his activity in Trans 4.

2. Filtering carriers by the algorithm - basic criteria:

- only companies with active access to Trans.eu
- if the shipper (TfS) is a searcher, only companies which do not have any of the classes: K7, K8, K9, are considered
- if the forwarder (TfF) is a searcher, only companies which have at least one of the classes: K0, K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, KEX, or do not have any classes, are considered.

3. Estimation of the carrier's quality by the algorithm - criteria:

- certificates TCC, TCF, TCE, ISO28000, Audited Insurance, insurance policies, licences and additional certificates (e.g. ADR)
- ratings on the exchange
- age and condition of the fleet (fuel standards, equipment)
- duration of business activity
The algorithm calculates the final value of a given criterion by considering the shipper's preferences defined by him in the 'Recommendation Criteria' module.

4. Sending inquiries to carriers, divided into subsets, analysis of offers from carriers and criteria for their presentation, according to the extended criteria.

5. Carrier recommendation process. The main parameters:

- maximum number of inquiries sent to carriers and offers received from them
- importance of the carrier's quality parameters to be presented to the shipper or freight forwarder
- time of sending inquiries and waiting for response
- range of tolerance for price changes (e.g. the carrier wants more than the shipper offered)
- comparison of offers from carriers
- maximum number of recommended carriers.
